From 01 September 2022, every taxi in Ireland must accept credit and debit card payments (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as cash – it’s the passenger’s choice. Drivers may not charge surcharges on any card payments. The driver must offer passengers the legal taxi fare receipt from the taximeter (not the card terminal).

Also, don’t want to have to worry about getting an ATM without a ridiculous service charge at YVR just to have CAD for taxi. If taxis and shared ride shuttles accept credit cards, I’ll just use them. In Baltimore, taxi cabs generally accept cash and credit card payments. Passengers can pay for their rides using either method, depending on their preference.
